                 OVERVIEW

One of the most crucial parts of human communication is facial expressions. Not
only thoughts and ideas, but also emotions are communicated through the face. Personal

emotions and intentions can be expressed through facial expressions in social situations. They
are incredibly significant not only in people's social interactions but also in non-verbal
communication. Facial expressions also convey a person’s true feelings.

                  3.3 FACIAL EXPRESSIONS

The face is the most compelling channel of non-verbal communication. The human face
is extremely expressive, able to convey countless emotions without saying a word. Facial
expression refers to certain movements or conditions of the facial muscles that facilitate

the nonverbal communication of some thought, emotion or behavior. Unlike some forms of
nonverbal communication, facial expressions are universal.
