 Emotions influence us physically as well as mentally. Throughout the day, when you
experience a variety of feelings (ranging from enthusiastic to bored, joyful to annoyed),

attempt to pinpoint where you feel that emotion inside your body.
 If you see specific facial expressions or body language that you think are appropriate for
a given situation, utilize it as a model for enhancing your own nonverbal communication.

If you see that nodding your head effectively expresses acceptance and good feedback,
apply it in your next meeting when you have the same sentiments.

 Take the time to learn about the body language and facial expressions of those you work
with, as well as to improve your own nonverbal communication skills.
 Mindfulness can help people better comprehend their own nonverbal communication

styles as well as the communication styles of others. Bringing one’s attention to the
current moment and paying attention to facial expressions or posture might help one

become more self-aware and interact more effectively with others. During a
conversation, for example, a person could actively consider gestures, tone of voice, eye
contact, and body movement, as well as the other person’s reaction to these parts of

                       communication.
 Nonverbal communication is influenced by stress as well. People who are anxious are
more likely to misunderstand others and to give forth verbal cues that confuse others.

Stress management can help you enhance your verbal interactions and relationships.

                SUMMARY

Information can be conveyed to humans in addition to that which is written or spoken.
Nonverbal communication is the process of communicating ideas without using words, instead
using gestures and body language. Nonverbal communication is so important in navigating

social situations and interacting with others. It is imperative for everyone to imbibe the essential
